Leaving planes in cars all day, damage?

I want to fly my FVK Trendy at lunch but it will have to sit in my car all day. It gets pretty hot in there.

Do you leave your planes in the car?
Have you had any damage?
Passenger compartment or trunk?

Don't want to damage my plane.

I learned the hard way that it is not a good idea to leave planes in cars unless the windows are open. I have noticed that in an hour or less the covering gets loose and resembles a real old guy. This can be reshrunk with a heat gun but I am not happy doing that a lot. We sometimes bring planes into work so we can stop at the field on the way home.

Coverings can loosen, tighten and wrinkle, foam warps, sheeted and hollow molded wings delaminate - all in all, not a great idea.

Foamies can melt in a car!
Way back when, using reed systems, leaving them in a car all day was a guaranteed disaster unless they were brought back down to outside ambient before adjusting... (Old timey radios needed continuous adjustment.)
