3M 77 spray for EPP

I am about to start my first attempt at an EPP foamie. (still choosing between nasty, yak or slofly - throw in your $.02 opinion if you like)

I have read a lot that people use 3M 77 contact spray to enable them to attach sticky tape to EPP.
The conversations between all the yankees talk about buying this 3M 77 spray at wal-mart etc.
Where would an aussie source such a product. Anyone seen it at LHS or hardware stores?

It can be hard to get. And is generally about $30/can. My Local Bunnings doesnt have it.

I have used foam safe spray adhesive from the craft store with success. Goes for about $6 can. Generally used for attaching photos o boards, and general craft sticking jobs.

Having said all that, 3m77 is the best stuff you can get, assuming you can find it somewhere.

I picked up a can of 3M77 at my local Officeworks a couple of weeks ago in Narre Warren. It was a bit exepensive, cant quite remember, around $25 or so.
Cheers,
Glenn.

As Brett said, it can be hard to get. I got mine from up the road at a stationery supplier where I work for around $22 I think, last year.

It wasn't called 3M Super77 but 3M MultiPurpose and was in a green can I think. Anyway I thought it was way better than a cheaper can of craft spray I got before it. Very high tack.

Definately a used can, lots of glue all over the exit area.

That pic should help one locate it.

BTW, are toyworld stores franchise run and stock is determined by the local empoyees? Theres one at Australia fair that sells zap, superglue 1oz for 5.99 AUD. I got 1, even though i didnt need it, but when i was there i maybe saw some spray glue. (MAYBE but probably wasnt)

I called 3M Australia once and they confirmed that 3M Super77 and 3M MultiPurpose was the same stuff - the challenge I find is getting the big-arsed cans of the stuff. Office Works stocked them at one point, but haven't had it lately.

I use all the 3M spray adhesives for my work including the Photo Mount and Remountable sprays and they are streets ahead of other products, not just in the adhesive, but also in the spray pattern and droplet size.

3M77 the old type is at Clark rubber stores, have a look at the can to see if it uses acetone or cyclohexene the new has acetone in it. The old will work on eps foam as well.

Acetone will melt foam, but use it at a distance and the acetone evaporates before it hits the foam. People use this technique for acetone based paints.
Worth a try

I use UHU glue I got from bunnings on EPP most of the time. Cant remember what it it is called. Its light and strong, but does need to set overnight to become really strong. Cost $6 for 90ml. For instant gluing cant go past hot glue.

Is UHU the clear thick glue that strings? I have the original UHU and that eats through foam, but its real cheap when you buy it from asia. I got the largest tube thats 20cm long and 4cm in diameter for about $5 australian (converted)
