EPP F3P Practice Plane?

I wanted to see if it was possible to make an EPP "shock-flyer" for F3A/F3P. The majority of this plane is EPP. It also has 3mm Depron in certain places to stiffen it up where needed.

I need a forgiving plane to start practicing F3P. I flew it this weekend indoors and it did great. I'll post a video if I get time.

Whatcha think?

Cool! Im looking for an EPP practice plane but there seem to be few options. Any more details on the build would be appreciated 3d.

The build consists of 6mm EPP and 3mm Depron. Also used was 6mm flat carbon fiber as well as .040" flat carbon fiber.

I'm now looking at ways to possible make it even lighter and keep it stiff. Once we get it all worked out, we will probably kit it.

AUW = 7.2oz

AXI 2204/54
TP 480 3S1P
GW 9x5 HD

It flys nice at 7oz, but I'm still going to see if I can get it lighter.

Thanks. The hardest part was trying to keep it light while keeping everything stiff. Twisting fuse and mushy control surfaces don't work well for precision F3P. I'm happy to say it is very precise (and durable). Now I just need to learn to fly it

I'll edit up some video tonight if I can find some time.

Yep, the ailerons on this version were made from 3mm depron. And as you can see, the EPP handles the boo-boo's better than the depron

The next version might not have depron control surfaces...
