Ok guys...Maiden completed! Now it seems like I am running out of thrust using the 4.79X4.79 with a Mega 16/15/3 and 3S 2200 25C lipos. Is there a better choice of prop? I am going to try my 4S 2200 later today.

I always just chucked a flat head bit into my cordless drill and used it to take the screws in and out, makes it easy and no problems. |

Gyroron, you don't know to look past the 1.5T on 4s with a 6x4, that will be a fast setup on your funjet. Because of the high kv of the 1.5T, i doubt you could go fast 5s without burning things up. Maybe 5s, with a 4.75x4 prop or something similar. 6s you are limited to about a 4.1x4.1, but it sure would sound cool and make a lot of noise!!!

I have been out of the " Funjet " loop for over a year. About 2 years ago my R/C friends and I stumbed onto the Multiplex Microjets, and we had a blast with them, but keep tearing them up with bad hand launches. Once we couldn't find anymore new Microjets we started flying Funjets.
We kept pumping up the funjets and flying them past the radar gun, and got pretty wild with them. I flew this motor and ESC on 6 cells last winter and was pushing 140 mph I believe ( I posted the speeds in this thread a zillion posts ago, and am too lazy to go look for it. ) Anyway it was a real screamer! Then after reading all the posts on the forum here, looking for more speed, I decided to try out a pylon racer, and bought a Sunracer II. The Sunracer is powered with ARC 28-47-1 and a 45 amp ESC and using a Flightpower 3 cell, 2200 mah I believe..... Anyway, the plane has made passes in front of the radar gun at over 165 mph, and it seems to do over 100 mph on less than 20 percent power. This has satisfied me speed wise. I am just putting together another funjet to goof around with. The Sunracer demands 100 percent attention to fly, it can get FAR FAR away in a hurry and It is hard to see at time due to the thin profile and small overall size. It is easy to launch, but comes in blazing fast and even with flaps it just glides and glides.... So needless to say it isn't a casual plane to fly. The Funjet was easy to fly and relaxing even, so I figured I would put another one together for the hell of it. |

All you have to do is to cut the turtle up until the carbon spar and attach it to the canopy and make it one loooong canopy. Thekid3418 is right about the amps, be sure to prop down when you amp up. Happy flying !!! |

I don't know how I had this combo flying before, must have been on two 3 cells in series. Tried using 3 cells, and 4 cells by themselves, even in tied together and too much draw on the batteries, this is with a 5.5x5.5 Graupner. I think I am just going to swap out the ARC motor for something more sane, like a Mega 16/15/3
Anyone want to swap out good Mega or equal motor for my ARC? |

I flew my first two funjets with a Mega 16/15/3 and a 3 cell 2200 pack and it was pretty sweet |
