anyone using a spinner on the FJ. I tired installing one...but the spinner was so out of balance, i never used it (didn;t feel like messing with it). But a spinner would I think reduce the drag, and maybe add a little bit of efficiency to the prop.

I just tried one today. When I landed, one of the prop blades sheared off right at the spinner. I'll have to try it without the spinner again to see if I can feel much of a difference. I'm using a 2" Great Planes E-Spinner.

me, i have the het 4w on 4s in my fj. i would say it's one of the best, if not the best, motor for the buck. awesome motor. comparable to mega in every way, although the shaft may be a lil easier to get bent (the 3w at least). by all means, get one, you won't regret.

GassPasser,

I started with your link and found this page with a list of motors. 2 of them have 4W in the name.

This will take you to the HET 4W motor:

I use one with an aeronaut 6x5 prop on 3S, not a rocket ship but an honest 6 mins of furious fun.

Warbirds-rc.com is the place to get the HET motors in the states, I have bought at least a dozen over the years, free shipping too!
I have a 4w powered Funjet and it's been radared at 101 mph with a 6x4 APC gas prop on 4 cells.
I use the 3w in a Microjet

twang,

I've seen posts and a video with FP 5S-3700...but the WATTs were only about 800W as I recall. Too big a battery for 800W power range.

I just had a very pleasant transaction with the guy at e-rc4u. I think his name is Anthony.
The website is not very professionally done, but the service was fantastic. He stocks almost exclusively HET product and he is based in California. We had at least 5 emails over a two day period regarding my questions and then my order. Once I did order, I couldnt get his site to accept my overnight shipping choice (since he's offering free shipping in con-us right now), so he called me to tell me that he would ship overnight anyways and I could pay the extra shipping later that evening when I got home! Received my Super Sniper and 2w20 at 10am the next day... I will recommend him to everyone for HET product.

I almsot forgot.. He also tracked the package himself and then emailed me asking if it arrived alright and to let him know if there was any more he could do for me... SERVICE!

Wingwrecker,

Although they are re-doing their site, Warbirds-rc.com has a lot of good info on it. When the site comes back up compare the price you paid to theirs.

Test of your motor in EDF (on video):

Setting up HET 6904 fan, step by step. (another link shows Wemotec MINI 480 fan).

Oh Im sure they are great too, but I've had no experience with them.. I also think they might have been out of stock on the Sniper but Im not sure.. I also know that they are the ones who made up the build details that come on the CD-rom manual with the kit.

I was just letting everyone know of the excellent service I got from this little indie shop and I'll stand by my enthusiasm of the experience!

I will check those links now.

PS. I'm almost tempted to try this 2w20 on the FJ... Think I could get away with having someone hand launch it with, say 5.25 x 4.75 APCe?
