the differences between the a/m and the p/m are huge. the a/m is a somewhat overweight 3d plane and a somewhat draggy pattern ship. there is nothing wrong w/ it oa, but there are better out there.

the p/m on the other hand is very light and agile and if kept light will slow to a crawl. it's much better for 3d and aerobatic practice as everything happens slower.

so it depends what u want , light and floaty, or faster more robust plane that will handle the wind better.

chuck.

I build mine with a turnigy SK3 (3542 - 1250KV).
That motor works great. No problems till now.

It ist still quiet and the bearings ar ok. Also the Shaft isnīt bend till now.

This motor is better than the gold ones from turnigy.

Thanks Bernd.

When you say "No problems till now" Does this mean you are now having problems or is it just a English translation. (We Anglo Saxons are rather arrogant with an opinion the rest of the world should speak English).

Do you mean "no problems at present"?

Hi,

just a translation problem
I mean "no problems at present".

I like to tumble and spin. Thats much harder for the motor than "only" fly circles.
I also use a 12x6 prop on the SK3 wich normaly would be a bit to much at this KV. But no problems with that.
So no problem with this sk3 motor.

I had a few of the turnigy aerodrive c and d series before. After a few flights they start to get louder. I think the bearings ar not very good.

The SK3 is still quiet.

I have a NTM Pro 5055 at the moment in a bigger plane. This motor looks rock solid as well.

I also have a Hacker motor in an other plane. I think this is the best one. Smooth and rock solid. But it is 2 - 3 times the price.

New plane ?

Any word on a new plan form MX as of yet? I checked out the German site and it looks like an Extra 300 or an updated Acro. However, I can't read German.

Hi,

i am not shure, do you mean the MPX Razor?:

http://www.multiplex-rc.de/produkte/...bda11c1cb83cd1

This is the new Plane from MPX for this year. But it is a very thiny Plane.

Wingspan: 620 mm (24.41)
Flying wight: 300g ( ~10 OZ)
Top Speed: >100 km/h (> 62 mph)
Motor, aileron, ruder, elevetor controlled.

It is more a racer than a airobatic plane.

yes your right.... last year 2012

I didnīt hear anything about a new model at the moment.
When you hear about a new model from MPX it normaly took another 6 - 8 month till you can get it

We will see, whats new this year. But i donīt expect a plane to by before august or september.
If i am right, Martin Müller also changed from MPX to HH.

dosnīt matter to me, as i am changing my complete hangar from Elapor to wood at the moment

Acromaster to improve my aerobatic skills ?

Hi to all Acromaster flyers.

My current situation: With a light 32" EPP low wing model I can fly loops, bunts, consecutive rolls, cuban 8's, inverted low level circuits, etc.

I also have a Sebart Shark and a Kyosho Calmato ST. Slowly, I'm trying to transfer what I've learnt from the 32 incher to the other models mentioned above. I'm getting there but the jump has been a big one in the sense that the Shark was expensive and I don't want to wreck it and the Calmato carries more weight and speed through manouvres.

Therefore, I've been looking for an "inbetween" model in terms of size and weight. Now, this is where I believe the Acromaster could be perfect. Additionally, if I do go for the Acromaster I plan to transfer the motor, esc, servos, etc directly from my Fun Cub and sell on the FC airframe.

So, motor would be Emax GT2812/10, 970kv, 105g, 12x6 prop, 320w
Esc:40A constant 50A burst, Servos as recommended by Mpx.

I am not looking for 3D flight, my aim is to develop smooth, precise, graceful acro's which I can then transfer to my bigger models.

Your thoughts warmly appreciated.

Steve.

My AM is grounded at the moment, I burned up its Eflite power 15 yesterday. I was thinking of buying a Scorpion motor? What size? I don't want to over power the AM, something equivalent to the Multiplex recommendation. Nick.

I have been using the Scorpion SII-3014-1040. This is an excellent motor for AM. More than enough power. I am using 3s1p, 2200 mah lipos.
You will enjoy how the plane flies. I recently sold mine and am in the process of building a new AM. ChuckB
