I have had only one experience with AeroLoft and won't go there again. The lady can be kind of cranky to deal with if things are not exactly as she planned. Her scale was way off of being right for my JHI A-7D......

Ralf at "Tailormade Decals" is an absolute delight and does excellent and fast work. He will also quote on custom work from any color scheme and/or plastic model decal sheet.

Youmight want to try Callie graphics. I have ordered twice from her and the results have been very good.

Ok got the bird! should be shipped soon!
I was reading that the eturbax requires a lot of work to fit into it. Is that true?
I thought that this plane was designed for the eturbax. I wanted to use the 12s Any comments? Ideas?

Fabio,

If you are getting the df version, then the eturbax will drop right in as is with no mods. Smaller fans will work also, but require inlet modifications (i just recently finished converting my turbine a7 over to 90mm edf). As far as battery installation, we have that shown on our website. Having convertible style batteries definitely makes it a bit easier with a 120mm in there.

I have flown this airplane with the mw44 turbine, 120mm eturbax, and most recently with our 12s90 90mm wemotec setup. They all fly well with excellent performance. The benefit of the 90 is that it is lighter and offers a little longer flight time. However, it requires a fair amount of modification including swapping out the ducting (we have a mold) if you want the most performance from it. For all out speed and performance, the 12s eturbax is hard to beat and will drop right in with no mods.

You HAVE to have a differet and higher kV motor for 10s. Can't just use the 12s and drop 2 cells and expect any usable power.
I seem to remember that JHI used a Neu1521/1.5Y for 10s

ok That's great! thanks. one guy at my club told me that i could have used both 6s or 5s with the eturbax 12s. Sounded very strange...and this is my first real edf! i am used to props...and you can't swap cell and props like that...
thanks again...

Fab,

You can conceivably do that, but you won't get the rpm and performance of the 12s system (hence changing to the 1524 motor for 10s). A good compromise between the two is to only drop to 11s instead. That's a less drastic change. Keep in mind that 6s brick packs may be tough to fit. 5s bricks are a little easier to get in there. I've put them in the turtledeck area behind the canopy on the 10s a7s I've flown. These were also thinner 20c cells though. The 30c and up cells are a little fatter. Tough to determine that without having the airplane yet though.
