Dysons are great vacs, no hassle with bags or anything. They are a bit on the heavy side though so if you are a weak old lady I would not recommend one. If that's you in your pic next to your posts I think you'll manage

My Dyson (well, my mothers actually) took a tumble down the stairs the other week, the only damage was a heavily chipped wall

Thanks for the response. Yeah, that's me in the pic!! Don't you feel sorry for my lady?? Have you had the Dyson for a long time?? The last two vacs that we had were around the $100 to $150 range. Both good names but they only lasted a year. We vac every day (no kidding), because we have pets and kids. Not to mention using a Roomba also. So I'm hoping to get at least 5 years out of this next one.

The Dyson we have is just under 4 years so 5 years is looking promising

My parents and grandparents both have Dyson vacs. According to my parents, it's the best vacuum cleaner they have ever purchased. They're durable, and do a great job with pet hair, etc... They've had theirs for about 3 years or so and it still does just as good of a job today as it did when it was brand new.

They say the money spent on it was worth it. Personally, I've never used one, but they're pretty picky with vacs, so I'm sure it is as good as people say it is.
