This one is more difficult to see - flies like a dream but as it was my first scratch build job the next one will be better.

Nice!

Visible colour scheme too.

What cells are you using, and did you manage to squeeze the aileron servo into the same bay?

cells

Tim

I am using 8xSanyo RC1100 SCR cells - on 5x5 props - with the servo in the same bay - the fit is "snug" to say the least. All up weight came out at 30oz but it still flies well on low power!

A fine first scratch building effort.
Are you guys putting the Aileron servo off to the left side like in the article?Mine was not that tight

Hope you enjoy its flying characteristics..

Great Job!

Just for a giggle, I've posted Brian Cullens video-clip of my dodgy self-launching technique on Steve DiStasio's website;

http://www.squid-ink.com/hpn/rc-photos/index.htm

It's in the 'Videos' section and is 2.2 meg.

This was in the bad old days, before I fitted the launching skeg!

servos

MArk

I placed my servo on the left - the servo arm takes the most space! I plan to try the push rods on the innermost holes and see if there is still enough throw - if that works I can move the servo closer to the fuselage with shorter arms.

aileron servo

Per EZone suggestion I mounted my aileron servo on the left, but upside down, so the servo arm mounts under the bottom of the wing. I posted a picture under the heading "another Sportwin". It left enough room to sneak the pack in.
