2nd Annual Arizona Electric Festival

This message from "Frank Wallace" <fbw4@hotmail.com> brought to you by EFLIGHT!

The Arizona Electric Festival is only 10 days away January 27-29. This was
a huge event last year with 126 registered pilots, 37 vendors/sponsors, and
thousands of spectators. This yearís event will be even bigger with more
pre registered pilots and 55 vendors/sponsors so far signed up.
Improvements from last year include installation of 12 foot high fencing in
front of the spectator bleachers to protect spectators from the 3D flying
area. We relocated the RVís at the East end of the pits and extended the
pit area to that location. We have a new P.A. system and a dedicated
announcer for the whole event. The same great BBQ Crew food company will be
on site all weekend for breakfast and lunch. Night Flying Friday and
Saturday nights. Power station and A.C. power available. RV parking and on
site campers are welcome. This is one of the best facilities in Arizona
with a paved runway and 250 foot of covered pit areas with lots of nice
tables. Several Pro pilots (Andrew Jesky, Jason Shulman, Chip Hyde, Mark
Leseberg, Gary Wright, and Yuri Higuchi to name a few) are going to be at
this event and will put on a great show at the noon break all three days.
Prop Wash Video will be filming the event, and several magazines will be
doing event reports. Come enjoy Arizonaís great winter weather with some
great flying.

Herm,

see here: http://www.aero-naut.net/306.html?&L=1 Some 18" are 7000
and some are 6000 max. BUT isn't 18 inch is a bit ( or a lot) small
for the AXI 5330, you will need to use 20" or so to slow it down.

The 18x9 and 18x11 are limited to 7,000 rpm, the
18x13 is limited to 6,000 rpm.

This is data from the Aeronaut web site:

I am only running the motor at 1300 watts, 8s at 50amps.. aeronaut says the
18*8 classic is good for 8500rpm and they also have 3-blade adapter.

Herm,

8S at 50 amp is more like 1600W. I am running an Actro 32-5 on 8S, it
pulls 66 amp with a 17x10 APC-e. and that is about 2000W.

On your original post, you asked abou the CAM folders. I can't see
the same material will vary that much on stress load, from 6000 to
8500 rpm.

I have the three blade adaptor, I am not sure if that is strong
enough for three 18" prop on it.

ok, will stick with an apc E prop, much cheaper anyways. The retaining
bolts looked too small also..
