Lake Elsinore, CA Thermals

Hello folks,

I don't exactly know where this post should go...
I'm taking my family on a house hunting trip to Lake Elsinore, CA next on Jan 20th to 28th...
Are there any local clubs, pilots, slopes in the lake elsinore area? Please let me know-- I'd like to visit or scope out potential thermal spots/fields.

thanks,
jc

I would think that would be a major consideration in new home location!

There are thermal clubs in Riverside and Winchester. There are slope clubs in Riverside. To my knowledge there are no clubs in Elsinore but it is a good place to thermal and slope.
I live south in Murrieta and there are a lot of potential thermal flying areas in Elsinore.

Hey guys!

We're finally relocated here in Lake Elsinore and slowly getting settled. I think it's almost time start flying again...

thanks,

There are no clubs in the Elsinore area. You have to go to Riverside or Winchester to find clubs
Riverside
www.lasierraslopesoarers.com
www.inlandsloperebels.com
www.inlandsoaring.freeservers.com
I Winchester the are a group of guys that meet behind the school and fly e-gliders

What type of sailplanes do you fly? This weekend I'm headed to the Weasel Fest in Santa Barbara. We could get together and talk next week or fly next weekend.

tanks for the limks, Joe.

I fly mostly electric sailplanes. currently flying the Stork 2 pro and mini floh. I also fly other planes (unicorn flying wing, some foamy park flyers/3D, Boomer DLG wing, micro indoor butterly). I'm also working on a Slope-only Unicorn now.

We could meet some time next week-- anywhere. I just need directions since I'm not too familiar with the area yet. hey and maybe fly too!

thanks!!!

I got your PM. I'm not sure where you live in Elsinore but I have been eyeing the field across the freeway fron the Elsinore Outlet Mall for a good thermal flying site. That would be the Nichols Rd exit on the NE side of the freeway. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I'm going to check the Outlet Mall site today. Will be there about 10:30. I'm bringing my EZE and a Wonderer w/sighstart. I think I'll bring my DL50 also and toss it a couple of times.

Looking for lift
