J250 in a Cox Micro Warbird?

I just got a Cox Micro P40 Warbird. I will be using a 2 cell Etec 450mah Lipo. Should I just go with the stock motor, or use a Johnson 250 that I have? If I go with the J250, should I use the stock Prop?

Thanks,
Glenn

The motor is not easy to replace in the cox planes. If you do attempt to replace it, make sure you note the down and right thrust of the current motor.

By the way... it is pretty fast with the stock brushed motor.

The Johnson 250 is probably overkill. But, direct drive on a 4x4 GWS prop would definitely work well.

I flew the P40 today for the first time. I used the stock 130 and had to add a nickle to the front to make it balance. It flies fine, but it won't loop unless you put the nose down first. I'll fly it this way for a while, then I'll change out motors and put the J250 in it. By the way, what capacitors should I solder onto the J250?

Thanks,
Glenn
