Totally off topic, but I'm wondering if Hobby-Lobby will be having the 'Day after Thanksgiving Sale' this year. You see, it turns out that the day after Turkey day is my B-day and I feel like going nuts...

Curses Hobby Lobby! Got a Telemaster on the way! This will be the biggest plane I have ever owned. I had a printed coupon for the $10 off but its at home so thanks to Brian for providing it!

How different is the (electric) ARF from the (glow) kit ?

In other words, could the ARF be used as glow powered version ? Or is it a lighter weight version of the glow powered unit ?

I ask because I planned on obtaining and building the Telemaster 40 kit and running it with a SuperTigre 40. But an ARF would make things a bit easier.

I *think*, but am not positive, that the only real changes are that they added a battery hatch. It should be pretty much the same. You can go to Sport Aviator's Review and take a look. They have lots of nice pics.

you would have to put in a new firewall, and fuel proof it of course.. should not be too hard. Regarding the 2 piece wing, that would be a simple modification to do.. just add struts.

I may get a spare in case a destroy the one I have..

Oh, man, I learned to fly on the 6' Telemaster, with an Axi. It is HARD to crash. In fact, it floats so well, its hard to land!

I am using 2 of the Microbe 6G Servos in a Hobby Lobby Pitts S2 Bipe, So far I have been very pleased, those servos work quite nice on my Elevator & Rudder, I am not crazy though & am using a Hitec HS-55 for the Ailerons but would not hesitate to use them again, so far I have bought (4) of them at the Crash sale price of $6.90 Ea.

P.S. - United Hobbies is selling a new 8G Servo for $3.99, I order just ONE with my order to test & will post results.

it is a different airplane.. very efficient, will slow down to a crawl and quite speedy at full throttle. Today I noticed it handles extreme cross winds very well, must have something to do with the side area in front of the cg. I have no problems at all landing it, the big 15" windmilling props slows it down quite nicely.

You can see a video here, turn up the volume:

As promised, I am reporting back that I just received my order from United Hobbies. I bought (1) of the Hacker "Like" 25D-3D Outrunners & (2) Towerpro 9G Servos + (1) of their Vigor 8G $3.97 Servos. All look good!
The order was shipped on 10/24 & I received it today 10/31 via USPS, that's ONE week from Hong Kong, not bad!

Although I have not yet tested everything fully, I would say that I would not hesitate to order from United Hobies again.

P.S. - I just tested the Vigor 8G Servo & the darn thing seems to work pretty good, Nice & quiet & runs very smooth. $3.97 for a micro servo, doesn't get any better than that!
