Astro Brushless 05 vs. Aveox 1005 or 1010

Can anyone tell me the performance differences between these two motors. The Astro says 300 watts (Aveox 1005 is 200, and the Aveox 1010 is 400). The Astro is 3.3oz. while the 1005 is 3.1 and the 1010 is 4.3.

Aveox seems to have a good reputation with brushless, but Astro is new to this type of motor, but well respected in cobalt. It appears that the the Astro has more power for the weight than the Aveox. Anyone able comment on the pros and cons of these motors.

Best regards,
Martin

I own both an Astro 05 Brushless and an Aveox 1005/4y. I use the 1005/4Y as a speed 400 replacement when I want more performance than a speed 400 will give. I use the Astro 05 when the 1005/4Y isn't quite enough. The 1005 is more efficient than the astro brushless under similar loads, but not by a significant amountg

The Aveox 1005 comes in 2Y, 3Y, 4Y and even 5Y (I believe). So if you want something really hot, go with the 1005/2Y.

I have ran the Astro 05 brushless/sensorless on 14 cells (800 ma) with a Kontronic ESC in a Mini fan 480. Turned 35,000 RPM and pulled 20 AMPs. Good Luck!

I can pretty much echo JeffD's opinion. I have both the 1010/2Y and the AF BL-05 with the 3.3:1 gearbox (805G) and deploy them in a similar manner. I've owned the Astro for about a year with many flights on it and zero problems. I've owned the 1010 for about 3 months and it has also performed well. If I were to own only one of these for sport-type flying, I'd choose the AstroFlight.
