OK so here is the problem with TV bike race.

Big thanks to Steve for getting me the DVD.

Now here is the problem. I have spent the past 3 hours doing sample rips trying to get the audio good, or atleast OK. This the best I have been able to do with diffrent sampleing, bit rates, sterio, ac3, I have tried everything I can possibly think of. I even tried ripping the DVD to my HDD and converting form there. Divx, Xvid, SVCD, VCD.

The problem is the audio skips every few seconds for a fraction of a second at a time. This is the only time I have ever had this problem happen. Here is a small sample so you guys can see what its like. If its not good enough Ill have to upload a DVD file with compressed video(about 60% compresion) Video is still pretty good, but the entire download will be around 650mb.

Oh yeah I am haveing a hard time keeping the audio in sync And by no means am I a n00b at this, It just its not a retail DVD

so anyways here is the sample of the best rip I could get
total would be like 300mb, other option is a compressed DVD at 650ish MB

http://photos.rs-scooby.com/albums/album96/RCBike1.mpg there is the right link

I am going to try a few more things tommarow, but just tossed this up to get peoples opinions.

PS: if you download the sample let me know what kinda bandwith you got from the server.

Yeah, that is kind of annoying (the sound skipping, not Ian ). Swheels taped the show, and brought the VHS tape to my house where I dubbed it onto the DVD with a one-button VHS-->DVD machine. Unfortunately that's where my expertise with this sort of thing ends.

Hope you get it sorted out Erik because there's some good racing action and interviews on there.

What type of DVD media was the VHS copied to? I have had this problem with movies I had tried to copy from DVD-R media. I found a program that split the audio and video (checked that the audio sounded fine) then used another program that put it back together. These apps are on my home pc (i think) and my remote desktop doesn't want to work today so I can't get the name of them right now.

PS: I got a constant 30KB/sec download on a 2Mb synchronous link

I don't know the in's and out's of fixing it so others can download it, but I can tell you that everyone one here, even those who were at the LA races, will enjoy seeing it. You will get to see a lot of us posters "in the flesh" and some nice racing action. I've watched it several times, and pick up something new each time.

So y'all speak up if you want ^jynx^ to do it.

I'll try it, not sure what our download limit is, probably pretty low, but its worth a shot, even with bad sound!

Is the server by any chance located in europe then?
Cause I got around 170kb/sec

Edit: you could also put it on a private internet TV show... Everybody will have seen it then but if they want it on their HDD everybody will have to have a realtime ripper running.
