I've got some "plane" in me...pics
I was sick and tired of the stock canopy blocking my servos.
I looked around to see if there was one that would fit, but could not find one.
So, I said what the heck... I'll use my plank building skill to build a custom canopy.
It took about an hour to build completely. It is covered in orange monokote and the wind sheild is grey primer.
I love the way it came out. Its got a "lowrider" look to it.
Anyway, I don't think there is a lot of people using wood on helicopters
It's like a forbidden material.
Can't wait to get a good flight in tommorow

That things a beast!
Make me one!
You should do a full fuselage like that, double the size of your Trex, make it easier to see.
I am making a full big body from card so I can paint it to aid visibility.
What does it weigh?

It weighs only .8 oz
You can probably make it quite a bit lighter, because I used 1/8 inch balsa and too much glue.
I did a quick flight this morning.
Here are the pics.

I may even build a couple more so my heli looks different every time.
Now that I know how to build one, I could probably make one in 30 minutes
