Hi everyone, My name is Greg and I'm ... addicted to R/C airplanes and everything about them including these forums. There I said it.

I live in Gibsons B.C. (remember the Beachcombers?)

42, 2 teenagers (neither of which are into R/C), 1 wife. When she says 'goodnight, have fun' it usually means I'd better come to bed

Started out glider guiding about 8 years ago. Have an Electra converted to Highstart launch, and a custom job with 100" Windfree wings handed down from a friend.

Bought the GWS Beaver back in '02 and haven't done much gliding since. Now also have a Parkflyer Pete, a Spirit of St. Louis converted from a Guillows kit, a destroyed SE5 scratch built from meattrays and soda straws. A GWS - DC3/C47 I got for Christmas is in progress. Dreaming of an Avro Arrow - one day.

LOL, I tell my fiance the same thing. "Honey, would ya rather me at the bar hanging out, etc."

A bit of an evil look is all I get, but I know that means "No, no... enjoy yourself." LOL

i'm watching foamies...

Hi GGTRONIC

Bororin (Montreal)
30

A friend and I we fly foamies and a slow stick... Usually we fly at park Kent near CDN area or in the south shore (There is a park in front of the ST lambert ecluses) Sometimes is pretty windy there. Where do you usually fly?... we are looking for a indoor arena or something like that... just finished a foamie biplane and I am dying to fly it. But it has been pretty windy lately.

Bororin.

electric avro arrow flyer

Hi,I live in Banff Alberta.
I've already scratch built six Avro Arrows (pusher prop) 1/25th scale
foamy models.
Right now, I'm working on a 1/20th scale EDF Arrow using 2 - 50mm Wemotec
microfans.
I also have a 1/17th scale Arrow on the drawing board that will be using a couple of Vasa duct fans.
I'm single, 49 years old, work up in the Ft. McMurray old sands projects as an electrician ,member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
My airplane fleet consists of a GWS Pico Cub , GWS Zero, Parkzone Stryker,
2 - Parkzone P51 Mustangs and an Ultrafly F16.
I do my flying in Banff,Canmore,Red Deer, Ft Saskatchewan,Ft. McMurray and
when I visit my family in St. Catharines Ont. I fly a Parkzone Cub.
I also fly a real Piper Warrior at the St Catharines Airport.

Hi Larry and welcome, from one Electrician to another.
You have a nice assortment of planes The avro is cool, I'd like to build one
from foam, but too many projects on the go right now.
Do you have any pictures of your Arrows?

I fly in my backyard, it's an empty field at the base of Mont Saint-Bruno (the side facing Beloeil)

I just found this thread

This thread is a great idea.

Vitals

Name: Leon
Local: Guelph, Ontario
Age: 40
Status: as good as married
Kids: 1 8year old boy
Time: 2 years, I fly every chance I get, at least once a week even in the winter.
Birds:
-Air Hogs Defender (it actually few pretty good)
-Stryker (Started stock, went brushless, higly recommended)
-SuperFly-E (Great plane, I learned to fly on this one)
-Edge 300S (My first Balsa....still in one peice)
-EZ123 (home made slow flyer)
-Aero Ace (Video from this past weekend)
-ParkShark (video)
-ScramBlur (Small J250 wing, now retired)
-BlueFunder (great simple design, video)

Even though I enjoy building, I enjoy flying much more so I fly mostly foamies. I wish they sold FFF in Canada.

One interesting thing I do is run a site called the EFlight Wiki (www.eflightwiki.com) It's a great place to post documentation related to electric RC flying. Have a look, I'd encourage anyone to help contribute.

One of the things I'd like to try is combat (cut the streamer type). If anyone is in the area and wants to give it a try let me know. I'm thinking of a platform like this for combat.

Hehe, I'm up for combat!!! And I'm in Guelph. Streamers to start will be good. But physical contact would be awesome! I've not flown with anyone before, so this will be a good thing for me.

PM me and let me know when I can kick your butt...
