Smove from Manuel Nubel

Well I threw together a "Smove" from Manuel Nubel. The plans came out last week and it looks pretty good. It has sort of stationary speed brake struts.

It looks like it was to slow down "downlines" and I guess generally control speed . Maybe for the F3B schedule?????

Also looks like it helps keep both wings from moving side to side.

Cool. I see a biplane in my future.
The plans are available for download at http://www.slope-combat.de/shop/.
No email two step like with the Knuffel.

whats the WS on this beauty? I see that it looks like you are using a LittleScreemer on it.
I wonder how a CustomCDR would work... i'm sure it will ROCK with it!

Permanently deployed "airbrakes" on Martin Müller's TwinSai 2 for improved "constant speed flying".

It's not about flight time. It's about constant precision and speed throughout the pattern.

I tried the first flights on the Smove outside at dusk today. This thing really grooves and really has a nice slooooowwww flight. High alpha knife edge is graceful and smoooth. Feels much better than my F3A shocky. Feels closer to a pattern plane than any other flat foamie that I've tried. If you like the Knuffle you will like this one, just keep the weight down. My .02.

Char

Forgot to add; The nose is hand cut EPP and makes a huge improvement. One of the elevator pull-pull lines came loose and the Smove went nose in with no damage. The other benefit seems to be in quieting down motor noise transmitted through the airframe.

Hi Pat,

Two 5.5 gram generic servos, One HS55 for ailerons.
CC10 and 17t Little Screamer GWS 8x4 prop
Vampower 11.1v 620 battery
GWS receiver

I don't have a scale yet to weigh it.

Glued the 3mm Depron with GWS glue and used pull-pull on elevator and rudder.

J Z 123 try this
