And every one enjoy..

My Maiden December 10th 2005

40 Inch TL
Mega 16/15/3
CC Phoenix 60
2 Times 2600 wide polyquest 4s packs
UBEC
2 s148 futaba servos run at 6v
5.5 x 5.4 APC e prop.

Mesured 39 amps may be a bit low and 21000 rpm.

About the video.

We tried to seprate places to fly I was getting glitched like crazy (may have been my fault)

Also the first location we were filming with a big ol thumb print on the lens so it was having a hard time focusing the 2nd location the tape is a bit better..

Thank you Darren for taking the time to put up with me..

I have been asked a few questions I will try to recap here

The lipos are fine

as a matter of fact the only problems i had were

A small crack near the prop cut out (injected glue to repair)

A small nick in the leading edge from the dirt landing
the foam between the battery bay and the elctronics bay will need to be reglued the electronins tried to share the same space as the batteries.

Knoked the winglets off (re gooped them)

I was very suprised that that thats all that was wrong. I have said elsewhere it is about 10 minutes of repair work that could have been performed in the field..

You just have to get your self the Tape on Chris Kliques Build method it will pay off in volumes..

I think the video speaks for the toughness of the bird..

Paul,

Your video reminds me of when i attempted to madient my TL i got from CK about 2 months back. Using his method these things sure to take some abuse.

Keep working at it, i'm sure you'll dial it in. Once i started to get comfortable with mine, it was a whole different ball game.

Anyway, keep the vid's coming and good luck with the wing.

BTW - I got the package, thanks for shipping that stuff out to me. I'll have to start a build thread later this week, once i get working on it.

This place is the best.

I like you choice in background "mood" music. Havent herd that one in years. I used to, in the cassette days, own EVERY single album including 'Coda'. One day I need to replace then with CD's (tapes were stolen) and maybe get that box set too.

Great video again and really nice quality for 30 second clips from your digital camera...

Birth Control Helmet Cam

3.2MP Canon PowerShot A75 (affordable), on a cheapo flexible leg mini tripod, zip tied to the front of my bicycle helmet. The camera shoots 30 second video clips. So every half a minute, I have to climb out to a safe altitude and fumble for the buton. It was easier with the Unicorn, but this TL50 climbs so well, I usually just point it straight up and find the button while she climbs out.

It's the edge of the American River Canyon, over the north fork. The span to the right is the Foresthill Bridge. At 730 feet, it's California's highest. It's by far my favorite spot.
