I have had several requests for plans for my 50"ws Spitfire using depron or fff. Since we had a nor'easter last Firday I decdided to see what I could do with TurboCad. Herein is a dxf file and a sample pdf file of this build.

As some of you may have read my thread on this great flying Spit. With a good 250 watt+ motor and an AUW of about 38-42oz and a wing area of 3+sq ft. it is a relatively lite W/L The wing is constructed from 2 sheets of depron or fff. I also put on flaps which appear to be very effective as well.

I have proof out the plans and have completed the basic fuse and they seem to be ok. I think if you scratched several planes before this should be pretty easy.

I done a number of construction pics to assist in building. If there is interest
let me know and I will post some construction pics as well. The files is in dxf format and of course can be scaled to any size. The included pdf is from a demo version and looks pretty good. BTW thats the best I casn do for pdf if someone wants to convert be my guest.

A couple of construction pics. Glue F-4 to sides. Glue fuse at tail end together ...make sure fuse is straight! Crooked fuse are hard to fly

The top / bottom of rear fuse is 1" pink foam. No picture, but cut out 1/2" depron strips and glue along the fuse top/bottom to glue additional gluing area for pink foam. Carve and sand to shape.

Yep, I have one. It's a GWS and not even painted. Odd you say?
Well, I flew it about 4 to 5 times, bored with it. Took the gear out and storage.
It's really hard to explain. I'm addicted to aircraft, large, small...., light, heavy.....
black,white..... you name it. But the Spit has never had the appeal for me. I really don't know why. Now bring up an Emil, Dora, Pfeil, T-Bolt, Warhawk, etc.. now you have my juices flowing. Like I said, can't explain it, but the Spit just doesn't turn me on.

Could you clarify what you made the canopy out of? What is Clear Poly and is it vacuum formed, heat melted or painted on!!! Looks great- If that came from a coke bottle then I'm really impressed! Mine always get dimples and warping!

E, it was a bit of satire on my part......I actually found that canopy at MT models I believe, I could look it up, they had 5 of them , bought 2 , I think $5. each.

A couple of more. Also glue 2" long triangluar blocks under top deck from nose block towards the rear. Need for strength and carving at the nose ring. Need same for lower block as well.

Well Al..... this will be the third one I have 40" and the 50" prototype, maybe I can get my materials investment back from you. BTW I visted Iowa on business several times and could not get over all the potential flying fields compare to MA.
