I have a low runtime Mega S7 motor and NIB fiberglass bulkhead mount for sale. New, this motor cost $169.00. It is yours for $70 shipped & insured to your door in the CONUS. I accept, and prefer, Paypal (Art@NT-Guru.Com), Money Order, or Personal Check.

Just for comparision purposes, I was getting between 10 and 11,000 RPM on an 11" x 8" APC prop using 16 cells at about 30 amps (if I remember correctly).

I used this motor in a midwing Hobby Lobby Elaktro (http://www.nt-guru.com/Images/Pictur...nes/Elakro.JPG) which I still have. I only flew the plane a couple of times because it is too fast for me, so the motor has very little run time on it. The plane just floats forever (at fairly high speed) on landing and with 16 cells I kept spreading the landing gear. I want to lighten it up a bit and replace the gear before I try again.

Is this a brushless motor, and will it power a .40 size conversion, and if so, what ESC would be a good one to use? I might be intrested.

It is a brushed motor and would definitely power/fly a .40 size conversion. I also have an ESC I'm putting up for sale (that I used with this motor in the Elaktro). It's an Astroflight 211 ESC (25 volts, 65 AMPS, and Brake). I'm asking $50 for the ESC (New it sells for about $90), but if you buy it with the motor I'll do the whole thing for $110.

PS: If it were brushless, it would cost about 4 times what I am asking (or twice the price of a new motor).

Stephan,

Yes. Hobby Lobby sells both gear drives and belt drives for this motor. As it stands now, it puts out the power of an IC 40 motor. Geared, it would be more like a 4 strok IC 60 motor.
