John Thomson's Convair Tradewind needs new home
I purchased John's Tradewind about a year ago, but it is still sitting in my workshop. It never flew because the 480 motors were not powerful enough, but it is a beautiful model, but on the heavy side. Some weight has been removed and I was going to re motor it with 4 Purple Power 1400 KV 340 W motors and two 3S 4000 packs, (matched up by 4MAX) the spinners have been adapted to fit these motors and the original props, but that is as far as I have got, no time and not enough space now to do the job. I will say that more mods are needed before it flies, such as a remake of the control surfaces with lighter materials, particularly the elevator and rudder. Also, the tips are too narrow in my opinion and I would advise an extra 5/8 inch overall chord increase. I have plenty of the original spray paint that John used. The engine nacelles will need to modified so the the lower front forms an access hatch, the motors will then be easy to fit. So, there is a fair bit of work involved.
If anyone would like to make me a reasonable offer for the model, I'm in Salisbury, UK Email Richard434@gmail.com
PS If you want the 4 motors i'm sure a deal could be done!

Boeing 314 Clipper - Plans Found
I spent days tying to find drawings and or plans for this Golden Age of Travel amphibious aircraft. By stroke of luck I stumbled upon these links after extensive researching.
An actual Comet kit plan of the Boeing 314 Clipper.
And best of all a real drawn set of high quality plans. These superbly drafted scale plans are by the very talented Edward Long. Thanks Ed. I am very grateful for them. If you right click them and "Save Picture As" it will allow either a jpg or very large better quality bmp file.
Now thoughts of a possible build in the future.

Maybe here if you subscribe. Quite obscure plane.
All I find are drawings and plenty of pictures scouring the net. You will have to do some digging for sure.
There is a build log going on with DO-26. If you run the search you will find it in RC Groups.
