Hughes H4 Hercules transport - AKA the sleek Spruce goose [the largest flying-boat ever built, the largest largely wooden aircraft built with the greatest wingspan 320ft/97.5m Length 219ft/66.75m, wt 183tonne, powered by 8 3,000hp Pand W piston engines.
Did it fly you decide - one occasion 2/Nov/1947 at 80ft for about a mile over LA harbour. Still awesome looking Makes a fine model subject.
