I am happy with the Align eCCPM CF Frame...my dealer give me a credit on the stock frame that came with the kit...trex-tuning has a review on them.

Just make sure you study the pics and install the servos and motor before you put the frames together...otherwise you will be in for a chore and a half.

Cheers,

Gord.

I'd have to say it's the HubDave frame. The Align CF is good too especially with the parts availability and the low price. The CF side panel, however, is somewhat brittle and has very little carbon fibre in it. I've broken a few so far and when I bend it, it just snaps. HubDave's is stronger and he'll replace broken parts for free. The only drawback is you'll have to have it mailed to you from him and this is contingent upon availability and his time.

I agree. I just got an Align CF frame, and as Trextuning says, some of the parts are a bit cheesy, like the hex screws. I was stopped in my tracks because one of the screws in the motor mount plate just spun when I gently tried to unscrew it to begin assembly. So I need to get a new motor mount. The CF is very thin, and there seems to be a million parts.

On the other hand, Hubdave's frame feels solid as a rock, and elegant in its simplicity, especially with the longer belt leading to a pully on the mainshaft.

I would recommend springing for the extra, and go with Hubdave.

Hubdave, no question.

Better than Align, Microheli, Heliup and Rotorworkz.

Iv'e touched them all except Hubdaves new frame, but judging by past experience and what I've heard, Hubdaves is the best.

and

You will need HS56's and a tiny bit of skill.

Do it!

PS. Did a parts count.. the Align CF frame box contains more than 180 parts! A rough count of Hubdave's was a bit over 60. And none of Hubdave's parts need replacing (eg M2 bolts)

I just checked the link out and like the belt drive off the main shaft. What is the weight savings for this set up? Are the frames true carbon graphite or a G10 material? Looks nice.

Jim....

Can't give you any help on the weight, but the frame is the real deal CF, and at 1.6mm thick, strong as an ox. In addition, Hubdave offers to help out with genuine crash repairs. TheX has plenty of experience with this frame, and I bought mine based on his rave reviews. The geometry of the CCPM seems about as perfect as it could be too.

A quick Q on Daves frame if thats alright.
Ive read that its amazing, but requires a bit of modding to work perfectly. Can anyone explain just what needs to be done/modded or whatever?

Cheers, Duane

I am confused by this... being one of the earliest off the line, my frame had a small issue with the anti-rotation plate being too far away from the swashplate, but Dave sent me a longer link. Other than that, the thing is a total jewel! I con't imagine what mods need doing.

OK, cheers.

Its just that I read that its a great frame, just needed a TINY bit of work done to make it work perfectly. Not quite sure what it meant, hence my question.

Does the frame come with the AR arm yeah? Its just that in the pics of the frame alone, it doesnt have one (IIFC)

Cheers, Duane
