Weather was gorgeous up here in the high desert; flying with the gang out at Calico drylake until the winds picked up at noon....sunny and 75 degrees, just perfect !

heading out tomorrow morning. should be a balmy 35 degrees if im lucky with 10 mph winds! you guys are blessed..

yep it was today, the Hurricane is just stock with BL25 and 60amp ESC and 3 cell 3200 batts.

it actually got too hot around noon...85 degrees but the afternoon flying was perfect.

Rob that plane is beautiful nice job! Couple of questions...I just bought my first airbrush. How do you paint large areas? You can't use an airbrush can you? If so what kind of tip would I buy? Thanks and sorry for the noob questions

G'day Paul,
I spent some $$ on this, I bought Tamiya spray cans for this job. The model was in MANY pieces during the painting. The most time consuming prep work was masking the canopy. About 2 hours to mask, and cut away the tape for about 10 seconds worth of spray. It was worth it for the nice lines (generally) on the canopy frame.

I tried using an airbrush on my customised FMS Zero. It was taking AGES. In the end, I just bit the bullet and got spray cans. To cover large areas, I've found that the spray cans are the best. Note though, I spray over existing paint and decals. Spraying on bare foam can lead to the propellant in the can eating the foam. I test on a foam box normally.

Rob, the scale police has no problem with anachronisms like that

Had the Kaiser won, these planes might still have looked like they did
during WWI.

I challenge you (if you have another one roaming about) to make a STEAMPUNK version.

That would be extra awesome.
