Adam, here's the pictures of my launcher. The servo operates a holdback latch which releases the pin that holds the ring on the bungee. This means that the servo sees absolutely none of the 15lbs load that the bungee exerts on the launcher. It's also very reliable as there's nothing for anything to catch on during release. Servo is hooked up to the plane using a connector. This is pulled loose the second the plane begins moving forward. A switch on my tx activates the servo. I also use two ropes to hold down and stabilize the launcher.

Thanks! Thats Sandwich, IL. Nothing but cornfields for as far as the eye can see. Next flight will be to 5-6 miles.
Oh Adam, this last video, I included a lot of clips from my FPV camera with the 6mm lens so you can see the resolution. I would never have flown that close to the tree with a 3.6mm lens. I could make out every branch, even no leaves. |
