Vulcan B2 Park Jet

Hey guys

Here ya go guys, just thought I'd share this with you. on the board at the moment. Best start saving up for loads a depron, this one will need a fair bit, 49" span, 41" long just in it's early stages.
power from a good 400-480 brushless setup loads a wing area haven't calculated that yet. Build up includes double skinned ,double spar wings power from either 2 350 geared or a high torque brushless.

should be done for next week

who's up for a Avro Vulcan B2

regards

Alan

Hi Guys

Sorry Haven't answered guys, been tied up most of the day with other things, unfortunately I didn't get chance to fly the Tornado today but its on for early morning.
No I'm not a building machine, I had a heart attack back in May and am sort'a semi retired at present with a lot of time on my hands,so thats why I have been knocking a few foam jets out.Its good fun, it stop me going nuts altogether LoL

Cheers

Great project Alan will follow with great interest.
I have just finished making a new nose for my Pusher Vucan out of scrap Depron as an experiment to see how rounded I could make it,(Dont ask why it needed a new one.)
Heres how it turned out.

Hi pontious

Nice looking Vulcan Mate, Is it turbine or fan. I thought someone beat me to the pusher type for a second there.Actually I think there is a kit somewhere in balsa/foam for pusher.Just as a matter of interest what does it fly like.?

Hi Tom

You signing on for a pusher Vulcan mate hehe! it's a bit big to carry on your bike to the field, heheh.

Cheers

Hi Al,
It is a pusher powered by an AXI 2820/10 with 10x3300`s but required a bungee assist for takeoff, but once up it flew quite well,(I have a video somewhere).I am upgrading to an AXI 2826/12 & 5xLipos.
You are probably thinking of the Jetsmart Vulcan by Grayham Iredale.
I would love a handlaunched Depron Vulcan with 4x Microfans so I will await your flights with interest.
Terry.

Hi Terry
This Vulcan is a 400-480 type pusher, I hadn't thought about fans but now you mention it I suppose it would be easy to adapt it into this design. This one measures out at 47" span,41" long and at the moment is 9 oz dry just the fuse.
I hate to think what the wing loading will be all up, make a good sloper, heheh!
I think it will end up at about 14 oz without paint,I will fit a Mega 16-15-5
Saphion 4s1p APC 6x5.5.I don't want it to be a speed machine just fly around very majestically.

I'm hoping it will be popular ,I will post the plans asp so you are welcome to have a go at it ,seems like you are a Vulcan man.

cheers

Alan

That sounds like good numbers mate, cant wait.
I was stationed at R.A.F. coningsby in 1963 when our squadron had its first Vulcan delivered to replace our Canberras. What a sight & such a quantum leap in performance. We were newly married then & returned last year for nostalgia sake & we felt our age when we saw the Tornados (Which replaced the Vucans) were in turn being replaced by Typhoons.

Hey Tom

Sorry I missed this, dont seem to get on here much these days,I must make an effort to correct that.
Ah yes! umm, Vulcan! well I did build it then traded it up for some Rc stuff to a friend of mine who had one or two problems with it .He said he couldn't get enough up elevator so he flew it into the ground then put a 25 ic motor on the front of it and totaly wrecked it.
I have the plans and I'm sure with full width elevons it would fly ok as an electric pusher so I may have another go at it when I get some more sheets of depron.
I did get to finish and fly the Hawk withn fantistic results,I will finish off the plans and post them if any one is interested, it is very fast flys about the same as Steve's Super Bandit.
Needs a quick motor on the tail to get the best out of it. Easy to hand launch and it doesn't stall and its got a scale profile with all moving tail plane.
If anyone is interested let me know I will get the plans done.

Nice to here from you Tom hope everyone is well

Regards

Al
