Flying over water

The other weekend I was involved in setting up a fireworks display for a 'private party' up in Scotland so I took my Yak with me just in case we had any spare time .

Whilst struggling outdoors in blustery wind conditions, the owner remarked "you should try that in the pool room" to which I thought 'pool' as in 'snooker' but when I peered through the double doors at the corner of the property I could hardly contain myself!

First time I've had the chance to fly over water so I couldn't resist it and went in. The room was pretty big and I was able to take off along the side then hover around for a bit. Enough for a circuit so some tight lines were executed before taunts of "bet you can't dip the tail in" came my way.

Always one to take on a challange and in it went - thankfully out it came aswell . After around five minutes or so I had to bring her back for a catch as my legs were turning to jelly .

Cheers
Richard.

Rad. Its not every day you come into the prefect conditions for dead air shocky tail touching in water... the pictures dont make sense to those who dont know planes can hover/fly indoors

Beautiful! I can totally understand the "legs turning to jelly" part. Sounds like a once-in- a-lifetime opportunity, I'm glad you took it.

i was able to do the same thing this summer on several occasions as i had perfect conditions (outside). i was so nervous as i am not made of money. i flew about 3 packs through before i go the courage to touch the water. after that i was so sweaty that i called it an evening.

He said "its the one with Jason Schulman, like Learning 3D [or something] Vol. 1"

You could probably do a search for it somewhere.
