Another great day at Peterson Butte

Today was another great day at Peterson Butte.
My youngest son Samuel and I arrived about noon. As we approached the Butte from the east we could see the hang gliders over the top, coming around the south side we counted 5 hang gliders in the air.
I turned Samuel loose with a digital camera and I put up the scratch built 2 mtr with a digital camera installed. Boy it's hard to get air to air pics! I did manage to get a few. The bright hazy sky washed out alot of pics but this is what we got. Enjoy!

After flying the camera ship I got to try Pat's LEG 60" P-40. Wow what a plane. It was a bit heavy at 60 oz but handeld the moderate lift well. I've planed on getting a 48" LEg P-51 but I think I'll change that to a 60" now. It'll be my Christmas present.
After that I flew my Super Talon for about 1.5 hrs straight. Oh what fun! Good to see a lot of old and new friends; Pat, Mark, Bruce, and Steve.

John

It just wasnt meant to be for me today!
1st my new Halfpipe still refused a range test even with a new reciever,
then I toss out old faithfull and it takes some hits which has never happened b4?? and next thing I know I plow it right into my self, destroying my TX antenna in the process! Hah! I can at least laugh now (unlilke everyone that got to see! hehheh)...but I was not laughing all the way back to Portland!

O well that's just the way it goes sometimes....I guess?? ;-)

Dan,
Oh man! A 60" Spit, P-40 & P-51 on the slope at the same time! We just need someone to get an ME-109 so we can shoot him down! Our own mini PSS show!

sno,
Don't feel too bad, thursday I pancaked the Super Talon at Peterson. Dinged the LE of the wing real good, broke the v-stab off and split the wing hold down block. Yesterday the battery in my XR went dead and I hit the fence. Today some guy planted a wing in the ground right next to me while I was flying the repaired Super Talon. Scared the crap out of me! I think his battery was going dead too. I'm sure you'll get all the problems solved and be back on the slope soon.

Matt, if you're having problems with more than one plane on the same transmitter, the tx well may be the problem. I'd have it checked out.

Ya I am afraid it may come down to that. I do have one last trick up my sleeve though...I came up with an interesting conclusion with the Halfpipe tonight. With the radio off, my servos go crazy with my Lost Model Alarm plugged in. I tried it with out the LMA and with another one I had and the servos are silent...I am guessing that the LMA I have buried in there is messed up (it's brand new, who'd a thunk it) and causing some interference. I did learn one lesson from all this...test your setup well before you bury it under a nice covering job!

As far as the other plane getting hit today...not to sure on that...
I was flying it Thur/Fri with no troubles...so perhaps it was just a freak thing to really mess with my head!

Gonna do some serious ground tests tomorrow!
I will not let it beat me!!
