I saw their proto-type at Toledo a couple of years ago....and came away with only one feeling - QUALITY!

I see you got the retracts also....THAT set you back a bit didn't it

Hi,

Thanks for responding! For a minute there, I was feeling a little hurt that nobody had a comment.

Kmot,

No, they're actually pretty reasonably priced. Then again, that's relative, isn't it?

Tailskid,

They weren't too bad. I get a little bit of a break because I'm a Rep, though. The kit itself is only $625, though. The gear are $495. I said "ouch" before I saw them, but once I got them in my hand, it was a different story. Only smiles.....

But those retracts are 100% quality! And therefore are worth it

Freddy,

No Sir. Those rectracts are by Yellow Aircraft! They're custom designed for our P-40. Nice, huh?

That looks like a very difficult build, maybe a little too advanced for you Shaun. So heres the solution, you send the kit to me, I send my spare Yellow Spitfire kit to you and I will build the P-40, fly it, enjoy it and tell you all about it so you can decide if you want to do one yourself. I was going to say only kidding, but if you fall for it I will be at the post office in a minute.
I almost bought a Yellow p-40 kit the other week actually as I wrecked my Byron P-40, someone had one with all the gear but I had just committed to a 3w 1/4 Mustang artf. I love the Yellow kits. My buddy is building a p-47 as a second kit and is having the time of his life. His only other build was a sig something extra and he finds the Yellow fairly easy and very enjoyable.
I have, as I said a Yellow Spitfire kit ready to go with Yellow retracts and a ZDZ 60. I am also flying my other Yellow Spitfire in Top Gun pro-am next year. I think you have pictures for that one for your web site Shaun. I have not heard too much about the way the Yellow p-40 flies but the little I have heard is on Par with all the other Yellow kits, and that is good.
I love the gear too, it just looks cool with the twin cylinders. keep us up to date on the build there. I maybe close behind you when I have my other projects finished.
Good Luck
Paul

John

I'm looking at a G-62 for ease and reliability. It's way more than the bird needs, but why add lead, right? I'll PM you.
