Has anyone tried the 16/7/3 in the Alpha jets on 4S and if so, how did you fit the batteries in the plane. I have had a couple of these jest and a 3S 2200 barely fits.

Thanks,

Brian

Hey I'm waiting too!
It's a slow night, need some VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw, My fan spit the spinner off during the maiden flight, rotor cut it in half and cut a 1" hole in the duct. Herb deadsticked it to a perfect landing, good thing these Alfas glide a long time! Also (stupid me!) I forgot to unfurl the antenna wire which I had neatly bundled in the nose! Not a single glitch during the approx 4 minute flight before the spinner popped.

The only thing holding me back from going 4s though is the fact that I have pretty much standardized all my small models to 3s power systems in the 1300-2400mah range.
Same here...

That - and the fact that my little charger will not do any more than 3S, and I'm not wanting to buy another... just yet.

somewhere around my 75th flight the same thing happened on my Mig...............you are right about the glide. I didn't even know it happened for quite a while. I had all day to glide it back to my feet. However, the intake is a mess. I laid some clear tape in there but its never been the same.

It lives!!!! well I think it will be called Frankinhuck but it should fly. I had to cut the intake duct out to reshape everything but wasnt too much trouble. When I glued it all back i needed to be creative to hold the intake round.but there is always something laying near buy that will work.
Justin here is a few specs;
intake duct. 14.75 inches x 60mm.first 1/2 inch narrows from 65mm
Exst duct. 4.25 inches x 60 inlet. 51mm outlet
battery weight 3.8 oz
power assy (motor,fan,esc) 3.7 oz
i will post total weight ready to fly tomarrow

Sorry for the wait guys. Defrag on comp #1 did nothing to help video DL. Second comp had to have drivers installed- where's the disk again? Got 20 minutes of flight video to edit. Why can't I hear the .wav files now? ARG!

Some pixs to show some fun.

Some junk to sort through

4s pack so light, it sat where the 3s 1500's did. Canopy a little tight, tape to the rescue!

Which packs do we want to use......

This is what happened to the fan after the ROG backflip.

Scott- I'll plug those #'s in tomorrow. Looks like the 4s pack is .3oz's heavier but put out how many more watts?

Good - more pictures...

That Huckebien is nice, but the F-104 wing is too small !

Look at all those batteries - waiting to be abused !

Heh heh... I thought it was one of his.

My comment applies to ALL models of the -104
That wing IS too small. No wonder those things were called that...

I drew a plan for a small Starfighter a while ago ( as a pusher ) but gave up on it, as the wing would be really tiny...

Kevin, I do love the way the 104 looks(Hall asssssss) Should scoot when its done! I just had to show it to Justin... BTW with bigger motor set up it took about 5 beeps of down trim to level off at full power compared to the set up I had with the gen2 rotor!
