So you have one and tested it on 4s with a 16/7/4 already?

Wow this is the first of the new alfafan that I've heard about. I wonder if the motors that are known to have worked well with the MKII Alfa fan will still be compatible with the new fan and the same number of cells that they ran well with in the old MKII fan?
I'm thinking about trying to build something for an Alfa fan so if this new one will will work with the himax 2025-5300 (and maybe even perform better with it) then maybe I'll pick one of those up!

Hi Everyone,

I'm flying an Alpha Mig 15, Himax 2025-5300, Alpha Gen 2 fan, on a TP 3s2100's PL. I've had approx 30 great flights on this setup, but I'm seeing a reduction in power and speed. I will post my wattage stats once I'm charged up again. Has anyone used the TP eXtreme 3s2200 11.1v with the above settup. The TP extreme is 28 grams heavier than the PL, but I think their longevity is better . Any info would be great.

Thanks

My mistake, mine is the Mk II M model of the older design.

BB, you would be much better off with any 20c+ pack, the new extremes will be fine, the 2025 5300 from memory pulls around 20-24 amps in the Alfa fan.

Of course you could also use Electric Power 3s1700 20c packs, or Polyquest 3s1800 20c packs, the EP packs are the best bang for the buck you will get, XUS hobby has them and they are alot cheaper.

As for weight, I wouldnt worry about adding weight to these planes, my Huckebein was 460g at the beginning, ended up at 500g after repairs and mods, and is now at 550 grams on 4 cells and has vertical performance...
