Yes it will scoot. But you have two big advantages too. The 16/15/x motor has a ton more torque than the 2015 or 16/7/x motors, and the rotor your spinning is making alot more thrust at that rpm, and will make even more than the Alfa did for every rpm increase. I wouldn't be too suprised if your making the same thrust at those watts than the alfa does at similar loading. I hope it holds to the power levels we're reaching for!!

Awww no flight test today....Scott I'm surprised you're hitting that high an rpm with the walkura rotor! Flew my 4S F-86 twice today still with the damaged Alfa rotor.
The less efficient rotor spins faster and again the motor started cutting out at WOT. So I flew it just below WOT. I gotta get going on that kyosho rotor!
I also crashed my SU-27 pusher thru a tree then into the ground! Oops pilot error!
Fixable but it'll be ugly so I bought another one!
If yours cuts out, disable the current limiting. It should help.

Castle recommends that the current limiting be disabled on ducted fans.

Hey Guys, I will cut the current limiting out! Thanks..It did cut off with the 3s pack but not the 1320 4s..I think because the better batts!
Justin yea a bit too much torque! I ran it some more and it tried to rip out at the mounts so I had to ca the crap out of all the joints. Now the fan is off centre a bit and rubbed the blades a touch. But not too bad.
Bruce I was supprized about the rpm also.the fan doesnt seem to be streaching too much.it didnt rub untill the mounts came loose.tomarrow I will stop by pegasus and pick up a 3s 1320 so I can try 5s

Hey Justin,
Can Someone tell me the difference in the MKI and MKII fans. I'm sure it's back in the thread but I'm too lazy to look.
What are the differences in output, amps, bla bla bla.
Here's a pic of the two I have although I don't know which one is the MKI and the MKII so feel free to school me on it.

Just compare them,
mk1 less pitch, skinnier blade.
It all adds up to less thrust at any given rpm compared to the mk2

Eric and Bruce are right. I wouldn't even bother with the mk1 rotor. You'd need to spin 80k to match what the mk2 does easily.

Page one and two has charts the show the diff between the two, but I don't have any amp readings as I never tried it.

O my Gosh that was a noise and a half..
5s 1320 prolites
after 15 sec.
26amps
15.7 volts
410 watts
peak at first wot
480w
29+ amps
after a 30 sec pull
motor was 116 deg f
batts 122 deg f
I was soooo excited I forgot to check rpm. So I throttled up and a wire broke at the solder joint next to the motor..It was not hot so I think it was because the wires were loose in the slip stream and moving around a lot.I will fix it tomarrow and check rpm then.So now its time to mount it in a plane!
Scott
PS those times were just me counting to my self not a stop watch..
Also 1/3 throtle is 140 watts. the most the other motor did at wot.
