Cool, with the bottom removed from the cockpit you should be good to go!
Didn't know you could slide it past the opening, On the F-86 the packs are centered under the 'pit w/ the electronics right behind them.

Paul- I had looked at those smoke packs and didn't even notice the "small" ones until now. That would be cool with one on a wing tip or as a drop tank. Not too much weight to worry about with this kind of power. Shoot the smaller smokes could be made into a motor cone extension to aid in fan dynamics and look like a burn out!

Scott- What is the max width and depth (into fuse)? These PQ packs are 4" long and 1" wide, 1 1/4" tall. I'm really tempted to order two more 2s 1320's. Grrr...

How long did it take you to get the fan from them. It also looks like their adapter is pre drilled out too?
Thanks

I just got my Huck in from Hobby Lobby and I bought a Mega 16/15/3 and I'm gonna run a TP 4S1P 2100mAh pack. This is my first electric aircraft, so we'll see how it goes. Wish me luck.

Uh Oh, I could be wrong but I think you got the wrong motor. The 16-15-3 is for the Wemotec Minifan. I think you wanted the 16-7-3.

It's the same diameter as the 16/7/3, it's just a little longer casing. The 16/7/3 also wasn't in stock at my local hobby shop. If there's any problems I'll have other than the case length please let me know.

Also, how does the fan blade detach from the stock motor. I don't want to break it by prying on it.

As far as problems go there are none. Performance will be another issue the kv of the 16/15/3 is a lot lower than the 16/7/3 you will not see near the rpms from the 16/15/3 the weight is quite a little more as well

A couple things. First, there is no stock motor. The rotor, fan housing and adapter are loose in a box. so no problems there.

Second as Power points out, the 16/15/3 has a kv (rpm per volt) of 3000 and while the weight won't effect you too much (7grams heavier than the Himax), you'll need some serious batteries (5s minimum) to get up to the rpms to match the 16/7/3 is spinning at on 3s with a kv of 5580. I'm interested to hear how she does. The 16/15/3 is a great motor for alot of applications. The /2 would be better for this one if you want to stay with that motor size.

To anybody with the F-86 or mig, what is the battery box size? Somebody said a 4s 1320 won't fit. I want this information so others can choose the proper batteries (besides the TP 1320's ) and not get bummed.

The first Hucks had Speed 300's in them or the BL CZ motors IIRC.

Well, I'm working on making the motor fit in the housing right now. A little more machining and it will be done. I'll let you guys know how it does with the 16/15/3 on 4s1P
