As I read it the highest speeds for each are approx.
mark 1 fan just under 70 mph
mark 2 fan 80 mph
4s2p 4200 90 mph
I wonder just how much the big dog can push this airframe.
I still love the looks of the huck.But maybe we need a mig for utmate high speed Alfa jets

Scott- It was just a 4s1p 1320 pack, (2) 2s packs plugged into the ultra adapter. I don't think the heavier 4s1p PQ pack would be of any better performance, but 4s2p PQ pack would be needed for the 16/7/3 on 4s run! (11 oz's vs 4.2) The next step should be the lighter 16/7/4 on the same 4s to realize almost an ounce less motor weight.

wing loading wont be a problem i have a mate that flew his alfa mig 15 on 3s 4000 mlh lipos weighing 400 grams alone RTF weigh must have been about 800 grams.

he isnt a very light builder.

I don't think the canopy will like it. It is taller than the 4s 1320's we used. THe PQ1800's are 5.5oz/pack and the smaller 4s 1320's are 4.2oz. I'd love to get a couple more 2s 1320's to make the 4s2p fit better and save us 3 oz's!! Haven't made it to the blood bank yet though....

Brian- Euromodels is where I buy mine. Shipping is $10aAUS though even on just a $16 rotor. The GWS mod is a a trimmed down EDF-64 rotor with every other blade removed.

my buddy and i tried the 4s on the 5300....motor didn't last long.

I have not tested it so cannot comment. The user with the original idea was getting 20+ oz's of thrust istalled. I'd like to verify that as it is a very easy, light and cheap mod (comes with a setscrew hub too!).

Did the 5300 on 4s have a heatsink? I got my maxprod EDF HS trimmed enough to fit all the way into the motor tube. Should help alot. But I gues when your pushing TWICE the max current something might give.

I have a heatsink on mine w/cooling holes drilled at the front corners of the fan motor mount and no rear motor cover piece. It really screams on 3S

no didn't have a heatsink.

couldn't tell if it was fast because if was after my buddy crashed his mig and just chucked it to see if it ould fly with no nose, like half a wing, tail crooked, etc. battery was just taped on the front with it hnaging all the way out haha. It was screaming i know that. i bet you would do 100mph or a little more. Only ran it for a little while, not even a whole flight and my buddy said the motor didn't seem right after that.

not the best test, so for $50 i say its worth a shot. go for it if you can fit it!
