Cloud Models Westland Whirlwind
Can anyone help me out with any info about this kit or the company(Cloud Models,Whirlwind). Good or bad. I'am not sure if it's scale but it looks very impressive. Thanks for any replies.
Sincerely, Gregg |

I do not have any pics scanned right now.
It is in the magazine though, and on the MidAm videotape. It has 42" span, all wood built, twin 400's 6 volts on 8-800AR cells. Covering is all monokote, tan and OD on top, grey on bottom. Uses two Graupner High speed spinners,4.75 props... Search for it, I'm sure theres a pic here somewhere.I know they were posted tot the gallery a while back..... Mark |

I have one of cloud models DH88 comets and it flys very well
I know of the Whirlwind because last year at old warden the desighner was there with a couple of kits and a demo plane. It flew from a hand launch fine and had speed 400 can motors and 7 or 8 rc2000 cells I cant remember the props but they were folders arround about 6*4 probably graupner flights were about 6 mins I was interested in one of the kits myself but the wirlwind did not quite rouse enough interest as a plane. |

Don't know much about the Whirlwind, but I built & flew the Cloud Models DH-88 Comet. On twin permax 450's Turbo & Graupner 8x6 cam props on 8x2000 cells.
