Ive owned and used both the gy401 and the telebee. for sport flying, there is not a lot of difference between the two in heading lock mode. the telebee does get a small amount of drift (the tail moves very very slowly left or right) that is easily corrected with rudder trim. In hover, they hold the tail about the same, in forward flight, the telebee will slowly weathervane into the direction of forward flight which is actually a good thing for a beginning to intermediate pilot. The gy401 will hold the heading of the last rudder input so that if the nose isnt pointed in the direction of flight the heli will fly sideways until corrected with rudder input.
Here's some good links for telebee setup
The setup stuff you read might sound complicated but it really isn't.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
