Everything You Always Wanted To Know About A Trex

They are big and ugly, large teeth, kind of smelly, walks on two legs
No the ones with Rotating Blades on there Head

Hope this is some help to all flying a Trex .
Comments and suggestions are welcome .

How To

Finless Bob
I must compliment Finless Bob and suggest that all could benefit from his
video's . I have learned to fly Heli's with no one in the area to talk with
and believe me this was hard to do . Over this year I have had the occasion
to talk one on one with just a few Heli pilots . I find these video's almost as
good as one on one communication and I recommend them to all .
And I give a Thank You to Finless Bob for his efforts , you can find them here

I like your canopy, you are probably one of the few people out there that actually believes that there is no pilot and no need for a window for him to see through, nice one .

My Trex wisdom, skip all the plastic stuff and go to the CF frames and all the ali bling, while you are shoping get a neu motor and have some fun. The only downside is the cost. I have been thru 5 trex's now and only the latest all bling version is worth keeping.

loving the idea of this thread guys..thnx!

im in the process of getting a "semi blingy" 1st proper cp micro,, been about,,,ooh err.. 6 months? with a V3 fp hummer,,been loving it,,finally something clicked, and my brain is more or less heli flying wired now ...side on, nose in, piros, circuits, wonky looking 8's , i will always keep and use my hummer i think for all the indoor fun(not to mention how much ive now spent on it) .......anyway..it is time, basically from what ive been reading the last week or so is..."wait for the XL SE,released any day now", is going to be vastly better than the XL CDE CCPM? (semi bling remember) ,,, i will be watching here lots now to see whats cooking, oh,,,anyone got a release date or something for the XL SE ?

Then again, why reinvent the wheel? trextuning.com has everything you have suggested and way more. but it is a good idea anyway.

Actually Will, I disagree with you on that front. While of course there isn't a little pilot in there, but to me, I reckon most of the pod and boom canopies have become total charactitures (sp?).

I just painted up a clear canopy, and tried to give it at least a touch of realism, by extending the window-line to make it reminiscent of a BA Hawk or 2 seat glider. Even if I do say so myself (why hold back ), I reckon the difference it makes is worth the effort.

Please stick to helpful info for readers . I know I do not like to read a thread
where people are bickering , so none of that please .

I know that I almost lost my above mentioned Trex
Do to installing all the Blue Metal Head Bling and not rechecking the screws
on the ball links . Was showing it off and noticed one screw about to fall out .
Took all the ball link screws out that went into metal and found only two that
had Loctite on them . Put them all back in with blue Loctite .

My B-Day is on the 14th and i have asked for a Rex XL hde. It will be the grand rc combo with 4x hs56, an electron 6, MAP Antenna, align 25 esc and align motor. I already know i am getting this because my parnets gave me the Gy401 early, thinking i could use it without the heli (shows how much they know) I am gonna get either 3s apogee 2480 or a tp 2100 3s prolite. Hows this all sound to you guys? Ill post some pics in about a week when i get all the goodies!

Some short tips:

Don't bother with upgrades in the beginning, just buy them as you break stuff. It flies fine out of the box.

Buy a good gyro, like the Futaba Gy-401. You might still get some tail wag, since the tail linkage isn't the worlds most solid, but it'll save you some headaches like drifting etc that you get with cheaper gyros.

Use the wood blades. If you should somehow manage to track the plastic ones, they'll still fly like ****, and probably won't break in a crash, which means more force transferred to more expensive parts in the head and frame.

Paint you canopy in a two-tone pattern (and if you mount the "glass", preferably paint it black) with clear and contrasting colors. I know black looks cool, but this heli is hard enough to see at a distance, you'll need any help you can get.
