My cable connection's a bit slow and I only downloaded heat 1. From that, I reckon a rescue boat could have finished second

You can almost tell this was the first time most of them had run, still some bugs to work out, water leaks servos ect.
One of the boats not on the vids is the boat that finished 2nd at the Internat against the Nitro 1/8ths. also at the same race in Open Cat the two electrics finished 1st and 2nd against 1.0 inch Nitro motors.
Electrics are getting there Fast.
Check out heat 2 side by side with a STUFF on the back sraight.

The electric boats compare well. They must be down on max power, but have the advantage of useful torque at all revs. The next step for the i/c brigade to try to regain ascendancy would seem to be auto gear change.

The first and second place boat in heat 2 are running mid 50s (mph)
The boat that finished 2nd at the Internats against the Nitro 1/8 scale
was running low 60's before the cooling tube broke inside the boat.
We are just starting to find out what combos work.
