Anyone else have problems with bug blades?

Fed up with cleaning my blades everyday. Is the splat area indicative of headspeed?

No, it's indicative of bugs!

It just going to happen with heli blades in areas where there are bugs. Changing headspeed won't change this - but it will affect the flight characteristics.

If only they were grass stains - that you could be proud of!

I have problems with big black bees that love to fly though the disk. They get launched at near supersonic speeds when they get hit.

I wonder, could you measure the headspeed if you knew the mass of the bug and the length of the splat? LOL

I kinda wondered the first time I found traces of blood on my blades. Started counting my fingers but wern't missing any. When I started scratching my mosquito bite I realized where it came from....

There's two things going on. First the air is being pulled from over the rotating disc, and it sucks bugs into the blades. The other thing I've noticed is bigger insects like bees and wasps are attracted to the spining blades for some reason, and get wacked. We had some bugs so large this weekend we could hear the wack (batter up), and a big black object go flying away from the disc. I told the person to land since it looked like a link was thrown.

i was thinking that the light, passing through the blades as they spin, attracted bugs, they always seem to swoop up from under my heli,as i hovered around, never noticed them comming from above though...
