Head speed of stock HB CP2 / Blade 3D

Has anyone measured the stock hovering headspeed of the HB CP2 / Blade 3D? I am trying to set up the heli with a Futaba 9CHP. I noticed that the blade tracking goes haywire when the headspeed changes and that the blades will track only at a certain speed. I guess that the stock speed must be that sweet spot.

I just tested my Blade CP headspeed using a full contact tachometer. My Blade is completely stock except for heat sinks and sym woodie blades. Average headspeed for a 1 foot hover is 1380RPM. Maximum attained head speed, in idle up with neutral blade pitch was 2036 RPM.

I'm going to put on my flat bottom woodies (with the tips trimmed off) and see what the difference is. I'll post back shortly.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the flybar weights have been removed.

With the flat bottom woodies (trimmed about 1/4" off the tips) it hovers at about 1300RPM.

Maximum headspeed was 1803RPM in idle up (neutral blade angle).

Hope this is what you were looking for.

Thanks Beemer,

That is exactly what I wanted to know. I noticed when settig up the heli with a Futaba that the blades only wanted to track at a certain RPM range.

This is good timing.

I borrowed a tach, and I'm heading out to set up my BCP to use with my Optic 6.
