anyone know how to build a low voltage indicator?

ok i have a blade cp running on some 3s 1050 tanics and im wondering: How do i know when to land?

The blade doesnt have a LVC or indicator built into its 4-in-1 unit, so ive just been landing after about 5 minutes of flying, testing with my multimeter, and then deciding whether to recharge or continue flying.

there has to be a better way...

is there some way i can build a low voltage indicator or something? just something simple that will turn on a big red LED or piezo buzzer when i hit 9v?

Thanks very much LowFlyer101

Snowball, you can get one of these:

I know a few people getting it for their Blade CP.

Its circuitry is here:

Or you can build one like this:

I've built a couple of the microscream, and they work great. It kinda sounds like a bad bearing when it starts to trigger.

Some have said they can't hear them but I can't see that happening unless you fly at a WHO concert . I used the buzzer called for in the schematic which were in stock the last I ordered (couple weeks ago) they were out for a while and perhaps the poor sound was from substitute buzzers.

I bought a few of those piezo speakers rated 88db to see how loud it would be. It does not sound as loud as I would like. At a distance, I believe the sound the shogun makes during fff can over power it. What I like to hear is the same volume as the sound coming out from a smoke detector. The speaker in the smoke detector is pretty big though.

I fly on 3s, but don't use any LV indicators. It's taken care of by my CDrom motors. I rewound them to weaker motors and dialed in my setup so that the tail will lose authority when the voltage drops towards 11v and the heli won't fly higher than 1 meter at 10.5v. Much better than LEDs.
