Vaccum bagged wing design on F5J

Is there any reason that the wing construction technology , say vaccum bagging, is not popular in F5J or LMR classes. Currently that at built-up and carbon-capped structure.

Yes there is. Everything is a compermise, stregth for weight.

Normal sailplanes have to take big launching loads and high speed flight during the launch, needing a very stiff strong wing. A traditional built up wing simply isnt strong enough to take a full launch even with carbon capped spars ect. This is changing though with new building techniques and technoligy there are some d-tube wings that have built up open bay ribs in the back half of the wing that can take full launches. Still for the most part the easy way to build a strong stiff wing is vaccum bagging.

F5j models on the other hand dont have any high loadings during normal flight so they can be built much lighter, meaning an all built up wing makes more sence.

My local flying buddy makes all his own sailplanes for LMR competition.. half are bagged, half are built-up - it depends on the task, and he has different models for different conditions..
