Ok, I'm back where I started, building a Gripen again.

The Gripen is the reason I entered the EDF world in the first place, and it seems, with this new build, the reason I stay...
Thinking back, that first attempts of building and flying an EDF was really not much worth remembering. Of course it was Gripens, kind of semiscale or look alikes and I flew them maybe 15-20 times total with repairs/almost total rebuilds about every second time. I remember updating the last one from 480 race to a neodyme motor and calling it "prototype no 7" but it had no longer much resemblance with a Gripen. They allways suffered unsufficient thrust and speed and my very cheap used radio equipment I had back then did'nt make odds better for those birds survival. I plan to change all that this time around.

Size will be around 1/12th, same as the Draken I finished this summer. Due to the fuselage complexity and that it will be full ducting it will not be nearly as fast to build.

Powerplant will be Wemo mini and either the Pletti Moskito4 or Mega 16/15/3 I have lying around and a 4s. Maybe I'll try the 16/17/2 in it aswell.

Ok, here's an update

I have been redoing the wings a couple of times as they did'nt turn out perfectly straight. With one 2mm carbon rod in the leading edge and one in the trailing it turned out super and I started covering everything.

I am happy with how the lower "belly" cover sheets went on, not the other/upper side. There's some bulginess and wrinkles and was thinking about try redoing it...nee, to much work. Very little of this will show anyway once it's in the air... where it will be most of the time at the field...

Great videos, I would have been happy flying one of these for real. Well, for now I have to settle with an rc Gripen, not to bad that either.
