Cool
Slow Stick to Ultra Stick conversion

I've been a fan of the SS ever since I saw one hanging in a RC shop. I've had lots of fun flying it stock & also modding it... My latest represents what I think is truly awesome.

Reinforced=rudder, tail, landing gear with Carbon fiber.
Motor= the $40-50 brushless system sold here on RcGroups BP-21
Battery=Thunder Power 2000, 3 cell new lite version
Wing="Wing Dragon" with added balsa ailerons, wing rubber banded onto the existing wing mount.

Flies like a plane, great in wind & long flight times...
Just "plane" fun!

P.S. Stunts possible with this combo are...

Rolls, Loops, Hammer Heads, Inverted... + Wind!

Also my friend added 2 servos for his "Ultra Stick" wing so he could have flaperons...

Bump so that others can enjoy...

I've flown many R/C planes in my life but these are my favorites!

Seems everyone loves the slo stick. I may have to build one just for the heck of it. Right now, though, I've got to burn through the three Mini Ulta Sticks that I've already got before i add anytjing else. Since I can't seenm to kill the first one that might be awhile.

The best thing about the slowstick is it is such a versatile plane such as being able to modify it into those planes above for more aerobatics and manueverability.

Doc... My Dad gave me his Mini Ultra Stick to fly for a few days... What do you think about the plane???

His has a BP21 motor & 3 cell 2000 Battery.

Good power & fun plane, but wish the wing were a tad longer... as to me it desires to fly more "power-on" than I'd like & therefore not as long air-time.

(For me, I like my slo-stick converted "Ultra-Stick" better but everyone has different qualifications)

Take care,
Jim

Well, they are the only planes I have right now, and I'm saving my money for the new E Flite Ultra Stick 25E.

I've gone on and on about how much I love my Ultra Sticks. I've always loved stick models and even manufactured my own for awhile. All that building burned me out and put me out of the sport, so it's really nice that I can take one out of the box and fly it a coupleof hours later.

Rather than type for a few hours, I'll post some links to my Ultra stick reviews and you can check them at your leisure.

Glad I saw this thread. I am going to put together a slow stick for AP. But, after looking here, I realized that I could use my extra Cessna wing. Its the advanced wing from the Ultrafly Cessna. It was designed to carry a 21 ounce plane, has ailerons and flaps. I'll have to give it a shot. Hopefully, it will give me better wind capability. And the flaps should help slow it down too.
