Orlando R/C Associates Club/Field

Hello guys....

Thought to add one thread of our own for those that frequent the Orlando R/C Associates field such that not to clutter up the general purpose Orlando Squadron Thread.

Today, Sunday (September 4th, 2005) was a much better showing on account of the cooler conditions. It was Dead Calm at 8:00AM and I flew my large MACH-II for 5 wonderful flights.

Here's a mixed bag showing of wonderful looking Glow and Electric models!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Uploading two neat aerial Photography Pictures showing the exact location of the ORCA club for those that might be interested in visiting or becoming members.

Eddy and his Wattage Cap 232 and artificial runway. As I held my camera and yelled out notable jokes to Eddy about his situation those guys there at the club came out and assisted Eddy with a wood rails and card board surface and it solved the problem for the Cap!

This is the first time we actually interact with the rest of the club membership and I was totally impressed with their friendly attitude and assistance towards Eddy!

This club is just great! No talk behind your back....it is not allowed period!

Tody,

You got to come next time to the club field....it is not the same without you

The Mirage 2000 was out for 30 minutes and then, it returned to the back seat of Eddy's car. He then took it out to test the motor/fan unit with the Li-POLYs and Eddy told me that it appeared to be lacking in high end power and he noticed the Voltage drop but, of course he maintained the throttle at Full for several seconds.

Check out this wonderful looking Miss America Glow model with retracts! She flew as wonderful as she looks!

The landing was super slow and gentle without flaps!

I have no pictures of my models since you all have seen them countless times and don't want to bore you.

My MACH-II has not flown for 2 1/2 weeks and last landing was ontop of the Model eating tree and have not fixed the punchure wounds on the wing from that landing and yet she flew for an average of 9 minutes with outstanding performance.

The Combat Wing was a demon as usual and flew twice.

Just a wonderful morning!

Here's the Astro Flight 101 Watt Meter results taken at Eddy's house and mad scientist Toby at the helm.

1. Downloaded "D-Link" the latest EPROM S/W to the newest CC PHX-25.
2. Optimized the duty cycle of the Himax 2815-4000.
3. Adjusted the Throttle channel to 60% to keep it under 25 Amps.

Here's the pictures.

I'm thinking tomorrow morning would be good too.

Toby

PS Just looked at the wind forcast, looks like 9mph winds at 9am going up to 16mph at 11am. Probably not that good for a ducted fan jet maiden

Toby,

That means what? I am sure that early in the morning will be Dead Calm conditions as this morning.

Let me know if you are showing up at the Club...

If so....I was thinking about 7:30AM....

I'm sure one of us e-zoners could do the initial flight testing for you. What part of town do you live in? I am in Winter Park, and there are people who live further east as well.

Saying Hello

Also,

Adam, David, and even the other Adam (University Students) are welcome to join us as well.

It was nice to bumb into all of you at BOB's Hobbies on Saturday morning and nice of you all to say HELLO and ask me how I was doing unlike one person that travels a long distance and frequents the other R/C Club nearby who came in the Hobby Store and did not even say "hey"

I guess once you belong to "That" particular R/C Club in Orlando you think of yourself as better than the rest?

Adam (Magic840) you have my number!
