What to build what to build?

I have the following gear and all I want is something FAST and EASY to make. Not profile though. What plane should I make?

Why not profile jets? Check out all my threads. I'm having a great time with them.

I never liked them either. But I finally decided to try one. When I realized how fun
they are I decided to build a second, then a third, now a fourth. Now I can't stop.
They are just so easy to make and look really good flying.

But back to your dilema, what jet's interest you? Just search through the jet
forums and something should grab your attention. You have all of Jetset44's
incredible jets to choose from, Thomas Nelson's awesome Flanker, and many
others. Probably your best bet is to do what was already mentioned - the free
plans link above. Just go there, pick one, and start building.

How important are the scale looks? That's the main factor that you have to balance against speed (both build speed and flight speed).

An insulator (near the bottom of the plans page) doesn't have the bulky fuselage and draggy air inlets of the more realistic jets, so it's faster. It's easier to build too because it's a simple shape.

Here's a semi-profile F15 I made, the front part of the fuselage is a box of a foam, sanded to shape but the engines are just a profile - this was my compromise between scale looks and low drag.

If this is your first pusher bird then I highly recommend you check out the thread on the F15 by Jetset44. Steve has put together a great set of plans and it builds in about 3 hours or so. It is one of the best building and flying jets out there. I have 2 of them built and they fly great. I am running a Hacker 20-22L with a 9-6 apc prop on TP 1320 3s lipos. I am getting about 6 min. at full power and 10 or more at 2/3. It will cruise around at about 40 MPH and hits a top speed of around 60. With the flaps extended I can fly at around 10 MPH with a nose up angle of around 20 Degrees or maybe more ( I have never really checked the angle).....The F18 is my next choice......Good luck and hope that this helps.

www.parkjets.com/free-plans.html I have all of Steve's Jets listed on my plans page, and quite a few more too.. The F-15 is a good entry level jet to build, so is the Insulator, and Hawk's profile planes fly very well too. Hans-Joachim's F-16 is a very nice flying plane also.

Platinum, you've just laid down a challenge for yourself here. Remember, don't challenge other to what you can't make fly. So, we-re waiting to see the results of your efforts.....

Mathew,

I think that you will like the F15. It is a great plane.... the site parkjets.com is a great site to view and download the plans. There are quite a few plans there for you to look at as well as some of the finished planes built from the plans, also check out the F15 tread. Good luck....Oh yeah more thing - if you crash them they are very easy to repair. Just cut off the damage and glue on the new. I have yet to burn one in that could not be fixed.

John

Here are a couple of the ones that I have put together off of Jetset44 tiled plans.......

it is not a challenge from me.. right now im in the midst of an f-14. Just offered her up because the Whitestar is a challenge in and of herself.

I don't have time for her right now, but I know others love the ship.. just looking for people who love her as much as I do.
