Can anyone tell me about this?

Will this power my Wing Dragon? I want to put a camera on it but I'm not very well versed on these electric thingies, haha.

I got this one instead. I'm hoping it will have more power than the old speed 400 motor and 7X4 prop.
It comes with a 30 amp controller and 10X4.7 prop. The Wing Dragon has a stretched 51 inch wing and weighs 32 oz with camera. I might even go so far as to order an easy star instead and use that for urban AP

I think I'll try a five channel RX in the Wing Dragon first so now I gotta do some more shopping. Any recommendations on that? I'll be using a standard six channel futaba transmitter.

I couldn't find any specs. It's hard to say if you'll like it (my gut feeling is that it may be marginal, but it really hard to say without the specs).

BTW, since you are new to electrics: One of the most important e-model tools you will need is an ammeter (with a range to about 15A for this setup). Before the first flight, always measure the motor current, with you prop choice, to ensure that the setup is sane. This will save you from motor and battery damage and help you optimize the prop choice (just change the prop to dial in the target motor current).

Randall1959,
I have been looking at this motor. It seems to be the same as the on you got, and the price is right. Aero-nuts has a lot of data too.

That motor looks really cheap You would be better off with something like this

If that is to big they sell all different sizes, and you know its a good quiality motor...

Randal, what is the approximate airborne weight of the platform that you have in mind?

The all up weight will be around 32 oz or a little less. I has a 51 inch wing. I'm planning on using a 10 cell nimh pack at first, then maybe move up later. I allready have the nimh's.
Right now I'm using a stock 400 motor with a 7X3 prop.
