I have a new 2m Carbon Blade, That I'm putting together for just DSing.
Is that single screw going to hold that Vtail in place?, or should I do some other kind of hold down?
Any 2m blade DS'ers out there?

I know a few owners of 2M Carbon Blade who all had same experience -
Vtail becoming loose in air or breaking off on landing.
If you have no need for removable tail, epoxy it permanently. The same advice was given by Bob of SoaringUSA, the seller of the plane.

goop the tail on so you can remove it if you need, and use the screw.

I used some really thin strong double sided tape (no foam in the middle)
and that kept it from moving at all, so the screw won't work loose.
Of course, I then flew it into a ratty groove and splatted it into
the ground at 120mph, but that's a different problem.

I tacked the tail on with a few drops of goop. It's too much of a hassle to remove it anyway. I love my blade. For me it is a rock-solid DS'er and exceptionally tough.

My screw began to loosen up a bit over time untill i had a secent wiggle, what i did was do all my aligning double check tripple check then mark then epoxy with microballons to glue it in ther good...then 40ooplecheck youre measurements for incidence..etc and let it set,

P.S its held to 147 at vincent with much more in it.....it did loose a bit of elevator at the top fo the circle.....

Tighten the screw down and Glass the Tail on with a piece of 2 oz. glass. The other important thing is to try to make wipers for the ruddervators so air doesnt get under the edge and cause delamination. External mylar gap seal makes too much drag pulling full up elvator so do this... cut 2 strips of electrical tape to length, move each control surface into equal up positions, lay the tape down on the gap then push it in as you move the sufaces back into nuetral. This may or may not cause double nuetral...it all depends on how tight your linkages are and servo torque but if you can make it work smooth, use that as your wiper man. Its super clean and strong now. Some other part of the Blade will fail before the tail does.

I forgot to mention i sealed all of my hinges just because open hinge lines scared me going fast.....i took clear packing tape..(really strong) and extended the surfaces to full positive then applied the tape then as i slowly moved them back into position i took aflat head screwdriver and pushed the lump of tape inside so its really clean and i get no mroe screams when i roll the hell out of it...

Put a light layer of goop down and pull the v-tail tight down on it with the screw. It should be very strong and you can still get it off when you want to.
