Thanks, from an old flyer

I've been following this forum for about 2 months and have learned a lot. I was into RC back in the early 70s, had not touched one since then.
When the RC bug came around this time I had a great place to fly a smaller plane. I ran
out to the local hobby shop and bought a streak 400 or something like that, First time
up lasted about 15 seconds with a sad ending.
I though my RC airplane days were over, then I found a Merlin slowflyer. I can do this.
Guess my days of pylon racing are over, and slow flyers are more my speed now.
Now I have 2 Lite Stiks and a scratch built.
Scratch built planes still fly better to me.
Back to the subject of the post, Thanks to everyone for all the tips & tricks I have picked up here. The 9v Ray-0-vac for the Lite Stik was great, also Saran wrap with a glue stick, rubber bands holding servos in place,
GWS receivers,etc.

How did you like your Merlin slowflyer ?
I saw on in a shop and the wings seemed pretty strong.

I appreciate the welcome.
The Merlin flies OK, but the propeller shaft bends too easy. I have a 280 w/4:1 gear for the next crash. Anyone tried this? If not I
will report back when I do.

Hey Gerald,

Yeah I'm tired of the Merlin's easily bendable prop shaft. You can bend the thing with you fingers! Oh well, at least they bend back easy and are available at the local hobby store. The props also see to break and bend rather easy. Have you noticed this? Good Luck and Happy Flyin'
